Luna Grip: From an Award-Winning PR Career to Making Homes Safer
Some dangers don’t look dangerous... until they happen.
A wet bathroom floor. Smooth tiles
right after a shower. A small slip that lasts only a second, but can leave
behind fear, injury, and a memory no one forgets easily.
The strange part? Most of us don’t treat this as a problem worth solving.
We accept it as a normal part of life.
The space in our home that feels the safest can easily become the riskiest simply
because we stop paying attention to it.
But sometimes, it takes only one moment to make us see an everyday risk differently.
One Call. One Fall. A Whole New Beginning.
A quick update. A routine conversation. Something you answer without thinking twice.
But sometimes, one phone call makes you stop.
Two thoughts kept coming back to her:
- “What if next time she isn’t okay?”
- “If this could happen in our home, how many other families are facing the same risk?”
And suddenly, the question wasn't “Can I build a business around this?”
It was: “Can I actually do something about
this?”
And That shift changed everything.
Unlearning, Learning and Building
Coming up with an idea is one thing. Actually, building it is another story.
Krishina was stepping into a product category that was completely different from her PR background.
After spending seven years building an award-winning career in PR, she
decided to walk away from everything she already knew.
No detailed roadmap. No perfect strategy.
And the search for answers began.
And that’s where she noticed anti-slip
tiles. They were supposed to make surfaces safer.
But what happens when those same
surfaces get wet?
“What
if the answer wasn't another tile, but something that could actually prevent
the slip?”
And
then, Luna Grip clicked
So, What Exactly Is Luna Grip?
Luna
Grip is a DIY anti-slip gel designed to increase grip on wet surfaces.
The
formula is non-toxic, child- and pet-safe, making it suitable for everyday
spaces from bathrooms and kitchens to outdoor areas.
The
gel works across a range of surfaces, including tile, marble, stone,
ceramic, and porcelain.
How to use
Anti -Slip Gel
Step 1: Clean your
floors and make sure the surface is free of water and dirt.
Step 2: Apply the
gel evenly across the floor, ensuring complete coverage.
Step 3: Wait for
10 to 15 minutes, then
rinse the floor with water and dry it
One coat. One bottle. One year of peace of
mind.
One application can last for up to a year,
depending on the surface and usage.
The New Challenge: How Do You Sell a Solution People Never Knew They Needed?
Luna Grip wasn't selling something everyone already
knew.
You don't casually walk into a store and say, “I'll
take one anti-slip gel, please.”
The category itself needed explaining. So, the brand
started getting creative with its marketing.
And curiosity became one of the ways Luna Grip got people to stop scrolling and actually pay attention.
Real people. Real homes. Real concerns.
Their setup stood alongside brands like CeraVe, Hello Chef, and Fade Fit.
Big brands, familiar names and somehow, Luna Grip was right there
among them with water activation, T-shirts, banners, and a better setup.
But the sales didn't match the effort; after the first event had gone so
well, that hit hard.
Still, the event gave them something sales couldn't.
For the first time, people could actually see and feel the product instead
of just scrolling past it. The team
also got useful feedback directly from customers.
Did they make money? No.
Did they make noise? Absolutely Yes.
On paper, it was a loss. But they walked away with visibility, recognition,
and something harder to measure: people who may have scrolled past Luna Grip
before now knew the name and remembered it.
Meta Ads: A Paid Push, An Unplanned Wave
A stranger once saw a Luna Grip ad and bought eight
products within 48 hours.
First, she ordered two bottles. Then she came back for
more.
Later, Krishina found out she was a mother of two. Whenever her children ran
barefoot, she worried they might slip and get hurt.
Her reason for buying made the order even more meaningful.
For Krishina, it showed that the right message could build trust.
But then came another reality of building a business
online.
One week, sales suddenly stopped. The week before, there
had been repeat orders and beautiful customer reviews.
“Then, the Meta ads stopped without warning.”
And for a founder already putting everything into the
business, that kind of silence can feel brutal.
But just when things seemed stuck, Luna Grip's Instagram
content went viral.
Orders started coming in again.
And Krishina realised something important: Success couldn't only be measured by revenue.
It could also be measured by how many people were becoming aware of a problem they had previously ignored. And how many homes were taking steps to prevent it.
India: A New Chapter
India was always part of the bigger picture for Luna
Grip.
And when people started asking when the brand would
launch here, Krishina knew the answer.
Traditional wet bathrooms, slippery surfaces and an
ageing population make fall prevention an important concern for many Indian
families.
So, Luna Grip took the leap.
Those numbers weren't just numbers for Krishina.
They felt like a message: Indian families were
looking for ways to make their homes safer too.
So, she booked a one-way ticket to India and arrived
with a limited stock of around 200 to keep up with the initial demand.
Of course, people had doubts. And
honestly, they should.
Because when you're applying a chemical
product to your floor, you don't just want someone saying, “Trust me.”
You want answers.
- Will it actually work?
- Will the floor become sticky?
- Do I need to reapply it after every mop?
Krishina kept answering these questions patiently through her content.
She also used the product herself, including in her own bathroom and on the
floors of her parents and grandparents.
But the
questions didn't stop there.
Krishina’s home in India practically became a warehouse.
Orders had to be checked, packed, and sent out from home, turning everyday
spaces into temporary storage and packing areas.
Understandable. Especially when you're a young founder and every customer feels personal.
Today, Luna Grip is also partnering
with Synergy India.
While Luna Grip focuses on making floors safer and helping prevent slips,
Synergy India works around the person behind every step through rehabilitation,
exercise, training and fall prevention.
Different approaches. One shared goal: Prevent falls before they
happen.
And somehow, it brings the story back to where it started.
A phone call. A grandmother. A bathroom.
And one question: What if this could have been prevented?
