Snowberry India Success Story: The Rise Of Real Fruit Ice Creams & Korean Bingsu Craze

Introduction: A Sweet Beginning In Delhi

Starting a dessert shop in Delhi’s freezing winter? Honestly, it sounded kind of crazy.
It was December 2023 people were shivering in blankets, craving hot chai and soups, not something frozen.

But Piyush Aggrawal and Bunty Singh didn’t care about the “right timing.” They had an idea  and a lot of guts.
They opened Snowberry  a brand focused on real fruit ice creams and Korean Bingsu with just a little hope and way too many questions.

“What if no one shows up?”
“What if this was a terrible idea?”

But somehow… it clicked.

By January, their fruit-based desserts colourful, packed bowls of icy goodness went viral on  Instagram.
People were curious at first. Then obsessed.
Soon, queues started forming.
Snowberry wasn’t just another viral dessert brand, it became the unexpected winter surprise of Delhi.

It’s only been a year, and Snowberry has already opened 9 outlets across India - in popular spots like Connaught Place, Rajouri Garden, Jaipur, Faridabad, Gorakhpur, and Ashok Vihar.

The Spark Behind Snowberry: A Dream Born Love For Real Flavour

Snowberry’s journey began with Piyush’s obsession with drinks and a deep urge to do something different in the food space.

While travelling around India in early 2023, he realised something most of us don’t notice desserts were either too sugary or too fake. Nothing felt clean or real.

By May-June, a thought started taking shape:
What if we could turn real fruits into creamy, dreamy ice creams? No added sugar. No junk. Just real flavours.”

It wasn’t just a business idea anymore. It became personal.

Experiments In The Kitchen: From Dream Comes Into Reality

Every great idea needs countless experiments. In Snowberry’s kitchen, every day was an adventure.

They tested new recipes, bought ingredients from local markets, sourced exotic fruits from abroad, and spent late nights perfecting their creations.

Sometimes the recipe failed, and sometimes it felt like magic in a bowl and slowly, the perfect desserts took shape They didn’t follow a formula - just kept tasting, fixing, and moving forward."

Got Questions About Bingsu or Snowberry? We’ve Got Answers!

Q1. Is Snowberry’s ice cream vegan or dairy-free?

A. While Snowberry uses real fruit and natural ingredients, most of their ice creams are dairy-based. However, some fruit-based options might be naturally vegan  - it's best to check with the staff at your nearest outlet for vegan-friendly picks.

Q2. Is Bingsu similar to gola or ice gola?

 A. Not quite. While both involve shaved ice, Bingsu is much finer and creamier in texture, almost like snowflakes, and is flavored throughout. Gola uses coarser ice and synthetic syrups, while Bingsu includes premium toppings like mousse, cheesecake, or pearls.

Q3. Is Korean Bingsu available in vegetarian options?

A. Yes! Most of the Bingsu options at Snowberry are vegetarian, using milk-based ice and plant-based toppings like fruits, boba, syrups, and sauces. Always double-check for ingredients like gelatin or marshmallows if you’re strictly vegetarian.
