House of Aura Candles - A Journey of Creativity & Courage

A Spark That Lit a Journey

Sometimes, the most beautiful journeys begin unexpectedly. For Vritika, it all started during Diwali in November 2024. She wanted to make something special- a small Ladoo-shaped candle as a gift for her family and friends.

Destiny played its role when a friend’s mother, who was looking for candles, "received that very first piece, marking the next step in Vritika’s journey."

And in a twist of fate, her first order came before the business even existed.

From experimenting with simple designs to learning the process of heating, pouring, and moulding. That tiny moment lit a spark in her - a spark that would slowly grow into House of Aura Candles, where every candle is made with love and care.

For anyone curious about candle-making precautions, this Candle Making Safety and Regulations – Nikura guide provides essential tips and standards to ensure safe and responsible crafting.

Turning Pages Of Numbers Into Chapters Of Stories

Before stepping into entrepreneurship, Vritika’s path was quite different. She started with CA studies, later moved into marketing, and eventually became a Social Media Manager.

From creating strategies, writing content, managing clients, and connecting with people through stories, these skills unknowingly became her secret toolkit for running her own brand.

Because making Candles is not just about wax- it’s about understanding people ,emotions and aesthetics.

The Moment Of Illumination

One day, while running her content creation agency, a home decor brand approached her. They sold jar candles, seashell candles, and other unique luxury scented candles

While researching for their strategy, Vritika found herself falling deeper into the world of candle making - the science of wax, the art of fragrances and the play of colours. She got inspired and finally decided to try it herself.

It was a dream she always wanted to live - to start her own small business or creating something she could call her own and finally her heart found its form.

Making candles became more than a hobby it’s like a cherry on the cake. That’s how “House of aura” comes in picture.

Aura’s Story Begins

With just ₹25,000, she set out to create premium candles. What began as a hobby soon transformed into a ₹30 lakh milestone within a month.

But behind those numbers was a woman who wore a dozen hats—creator, packager, designer, delivery handler, customer service head, and even a one-woman PR team.

She debated every decision: Should I pack for aesthetics or safety? What if colours look different in real light? What if someone copies my work?

But Her answer was simple- keep going. Because her two priorities never changed:
  1. Make the most premium candles.
  2. Keep customers satisfied.
Even when bulk orders brought impossible deadlines and overpriced moulds, she chose resilience over fear.

YouTube: Her Window To The World

Vritika also started a YouTube channel named House of Aura. Within 2 weeks, she gained 500 subscribers.

One viral reel brought her the first online order, and with it, the panic of realizing she had no packaging ready except bubble wrap!

She ran from shop to shop, piecing together materials and shipped it with trembling hands but a glowing heart. She even created unique series like “30 Days of Jar Glass Candles” on her channel.

Her content wasn’t just tutorials- it was real life behind the camera. She shared failures, mistakes, small victories, and the little joys of creating and taught her viewers the truth about handmade work, and in return, built a community that supported her every step

Vritika’s creativity knows no bounds. She made:

  • Jar candles
  • Seashell candles
  • Wooden heart candles
  • Ladoo candles
  • Soda candles

But my favourite candles are her Valentine’s Collection - it stole my heart”.

Every candle is 100% safe, using soy wax or gel wax, with no fire hazards. She even explains safety tips to her viewers honestly- because she believes trust is as important as beauty.

Customers: The Smiles & The Scars

Every entrepreneur knows- customers can make you or break you. Vritika had both.

There were customers who spread love, who asked for handwritten notes and left her emotional. One even changed her entire perspective on business. She spent three hours reading that customer’s profile just to write a note that spoke to her heart. And it worked.

But there were also customers who misunderstood delays, left harsh words like scammer and fraud, without realizing that handmade candles take time.

She faced criticism, but she never stopped. Because for every negative comment, there were hearts glowing with happiness when they lit her candles.

Creativity Can Come from Anywhere, Anytime

Her Soda Candle is a perfect example of her innovation. It was inspired by watching Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and seeing Abdul’s soda shop scene.

She used gel wax with a tint of grey. Pouring at high temperature, giving a natural bubble effect, and added citrus fragrance - it was something completely new in the market.

Her first bulk order - 25 tea candles in “Lily of the Valley” fragrance . It was emotional. She curated the theme, designed greeting cards, tied potlis with pink ribbons. For her, it was love wrapped in wax.

She also experiments seasonally- like her cozy Strawberry Latte Candle in winters and sometimes, surprises her customers too- like upgrading a small Valentine’s order to a big wooden heart candle, purely out of love.

From My Eyes: Why House of Aura Stands Apart

What I admire most about Vritika how she finds inspiration in everyday life and turns it into something magical. Her work feels like a mix of romance, calmness, and creativity.

She doesn’t just make candles - she romanticizes the process of candle making, and that’s what makes her different. Because it’s easy to build a business, but it takes soul to turn it into an art form.

House of Aura is not just about candles. It’s about dreams that glow, stories that melt, and moments that stay long after the flame is gone.

Candles melt, but their aura lingers forever. And in that aura, lives the story of Vritika and her House of Aura.

Frequently Asked Questions About Candle Waxes & Oils

1. What are the most popular waxes used in candle making?
A. The most popular waxes are soy wax, paraffin wax, beeswax, coconut wax, pearl wax, and gel wax. Each has its own look, feel, and burning quality.

2. Which wax is the most eco-friendly and safe to use?
A. Soy wax and beeswax are 100% natural, clean-burning, and eco-friendly options. Soy wax is the most popular choice as it burns slowly, gives a premium look, and does not leave black soot. Beeswax is also natural and works as an air purifier.

3. Why do some candles leave black smoke or residue?
A. This usually happens with paraffin wax candles, since they are petroleum-based. While they give a strong scent and glassy finish, they can leave black residue on jars and in the air, making them less eco-friendly.

4. Can waxes be mixed together in candle making?
A. Yes! For example, coconut wax is usually blended with soy wax because it is soft and creamy, giving a longer burn and better fragrance throw. Blending waxes helps balance aesthetics, burn quality, and fragrance.

5. What’s the difference between fragrance oils and essential oils in candles?
A. Fragrance oils are synthetic, budget-friendly, and designed to give a stronger scent, making them popular in commercial candles.
Essential oils are natural plant extracts, more expensive, and give a mild fragrance, often used in aromatherapy and Ayurvedic candles.
